Credits and plans
How the credit wallet, plans, teams, and workspace limits work.
CoDev is free to start for students and builders, and companies pay per seat. Usage is paid from a credit wallet, and one credit is one US dollar.
What uses credits
| Usage | Price | Paid by |
|---|---|---|
| Workspace time | $0.01 per minute ($0.60 per hour), including startup | The workspace owner |
| CoDev AI (agents on CoDev credits) | The AI provider's list price + 30% | Whoever runs the agent, or the owner if they pay for teammates |
Agents that use your own subscription or API key don't use CoDev credits; your provider bills you as usual.
A workspace needs at least $0.05 (five minutes) to start, and an agent turn on CoDev AI also needs $0.05. While an agent's request runs, the most it could cost is set aside from the credits paying for it, and further requests wait until the credits not set aside cover $0.05.
Free credits
- Starter credits: $20 once per verified email address, added when you verify your email. Temporary and alias addresses (such as Mailinator, DuckDuckGo, Firefox Relay or Apple's Hide My Email) don't get starter credits.
- Referrals: when someone you invite creates an account and starts their first workspace or agent, you each get $10, up to 10 rewards a month for the inviter. Your personal invite link counts, and so do workspace and Room invites.
Refer friends
Every member gets a personal invite link under Refer friends in the app sidebar. Each link admits 5 people; the page shows how many invites you have left, who joined, and what you've earned.
The referral reward is paid once per new account, after it has its starter credits, so it waits for the friend's first real build rather than the sign-up.
Starter and referral credits expire after 30 days. Credits you buy never expire.
Plans
| Pay as you go | Pro | Teams | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $20 a month | $20 a seat, monthly |
| Included credits | $20 starter credits | $20 every month | $20 a seat every month, in one wallet |

| Top-up bonus | None | +10% | +10% |
A team with 5 seats pays $100 a month and gets $100 in credits every month, 50 saved workspaces, and 15 running at once, shared by every member. Teams also adds team roles, an audit log, Stripe invoices with your billing address and tax ID, and priority support that replies within 1 business day. For custom limits, invoicing terms, or onboarding, choose Contact sales under Enterprise on the pricing page, or contact sales directly: tell us your name, work email and what you're looking for, and the CoDev team replies by email.
Top up
Go to Settings → Billing and choose Add $5, Add $10, or Add $20. On Pro and Teams, every top-up gets a 10% bonus. Purchased credits never expire. Owners, admins, and billing admins top up the team wallet from Team billing; each team top-up gets a Stripe invoice.
The Credits card shows your balance split into plan and promotional credits, purchased credits, and when the next credits expire. Usage this month breaks spending down by workspace, member, and model.
Use CoDev credits for agents
CoDev AI lets agents run without your own AI account, paid from credits. A new account starts with it on for Claude and Codex.
- To turn it off or on again, use Use my CoDev credits for Claude (or Codex) under Settings → AI Provider Accounts or a workspace's Settings → AI providers. It works for Claude Code and Codex in every workspace, and your own credits pay (your team's on Teams), with nobody's approval.
- An owner can pay for collaborators instead: turn on Pay for collaborators' Claude and Codex turns in the workspace's Settings → General. Each collaborator then picks Use the owner's credits for Claude (or Codex) for that workspace. Turning it off moves them back to their own accounts or credits.
- Web searches cost the provider's $10 per 1,000 searches plus 30%, on top of their tokens.
- Fast mode, priority processing, regional inference, background responses, and provider-hosted tools other than web search (such as code execution or image generation) aren't available on CoDev credits. Use your own account for those.
Running low
- Below $2, your home shows Credits are running low, and we email you.
- At $0, your home shows You're out of credits, and we email you again. Running workspaces pause and keep their files.
If a subscription payment fails, your plan stays active for 7 days while you update your payment method.
Changing plans
Downgrading never deletes anything. If you own more workspaces than the new plan allows, you choose which ones stay startable; the others show Paused by plan until you upgrade or delete some.
Teams
Anyone can create a team from Settings → Team. You can be in one team at a time. What your team shares on that page lists what members get: teammates in every workspace's Share dialog and coordinating agents on any team, plus shared credits and workspace limits on the Teams plan.
- Invite people by email from Settings → Team, or share your team's invite link from Invite your team on the workspace home. Invitations and links expire after 7 days.
- Team members are Members or Admins, and the team has one Owner.
- To subscribe, choose Get Teams on the Teams plan on the pricing page (it creates your team if you don't have one), or open Team billing as an owner, admin, or billing admin. Enter your Company name, choose What does your company do? from the list, choose the number of Seats (at least one for each member), optionally enter teammates' emails under Invite teammates, check the order summary, and choose Continue to payment. Checkout asks for the team's billing address and, if you have one, a tax ID.
- Once the payment goes through, teammates who already have a CoDev account with that verified email join the team right away and get an email. Everyone else gets an invitation, and people without an account can create one from it with that address.
- While the team is on the Teams plan, every member's workspaces share the team's limits and its credit wallet.
- Everyone on the team, the owner included, takes a seat, and pending invitations hold one until they're accepted or expire. When every seat is taken or invited, add a seat before inviting someone new. Joining by link needs a free seat when they join.
- To change seats, enter the new number under Seats in Team billing and choose Update seats. Added seats are charged now for the rest of the billing period and add their share of this month's credits; removed seats end right away, without a refund. You can't go below the number of members.
- Team billing lists the team's invoices, each with View and PDF links.
- Any member of a team on Teams or Enterprise can write to us from Priority support with Contact priority support. We reply within 1 business day, by email.
- Everyone on the team can read its Team activity on the Team page.
