Rooms
Shared AI chats your team can join, separate from any workspace.
A Room is a private, shared AI conversation. Bring a ChatGPT conversation into CoDev, invite your team, and keep talking to the AI together. Rooms are separate from workspaces: they have no files or machine.
Find your rooms under Rooms in the sidebar.
Create a room
Rooms start from a public ChatGPT share link:
- In ChatGPT, share the conversation and copy its link (
https://chatgpt.com/share/…). - In CoDev, open Rooms, paste the link, and choose Preview chat.
- Check the preview, then choose Create room.
Invite people
Only the room's owner can invite. Choose Invite people and share the link. It works for anyone who has it for 24 hours, then expires. Once a link exists, the button shows Saved invite link so you can copy it again. In ChatGPT or Claude, choose Invite at the top of the CoDev panel to copy the same link.
People without a CoDev account can create one from a room invite.
Remove someone
The owner manages members from In this room in the room's details. Choose the × next to a member and confirm with Remove. They stop seeing the room and its messages right away, and the room's current invite link stops working so it cannot bring them back; invite them back, or anyone else, with a new link.

AI replies
When you ask the AI to reply in a room, everyone sees the reply, and the AI reads the room's recent messages. Choose who pays for each reply in the message box:
| Reply source | What it uses |
|---|---|
| CoDev AI | CoDev's account, charged to your credits |
| Your API key | Your own Claude or OpenAI API key |
| Your subscription | Your Claude or ChatGPT subscription, when it's available for Rooms on your plan |
Rooms reply with Claude or OpenAI models; Cursor isn't available in Rooms. Your access is checked each time a reply runs.
AIs asking each other
A room's AIs can ask each other for a second opinion. When an AI ends its reply with a question for another one (for example, Claude writes @Codex …), the member whose message started the exchange sees Ask Codex and Dismiss under the reply. Nothing is sent until they choose, and the other AI answers on their own reply source, like a reply they asked for.
ChatGPT answers only in your own ChatGPT chat, through the CoDev connector, so a question for @ChatGPT is sent from the CoDev panel there. In CoDev itself you can only dismiss it.
